Seoul, Korea, February 11, 2025 — Global leading tire company Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) is set to showcase its cutting-edge electric vehicle tire technology in the Middle East. As the exclusive tire supplier and official technical partner of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship (hereafter Formula E), the world’s premier electric vehicle racing series, Hankook is ready to support the 2025 Jeddah E-Prix on February 14 and 15 (local time) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The event marks the first double-header of Formula E Season 11, encompassing Rounds 3 and 4 of the series. Notably, Round 3 will be held as a night race, illuminated by the latest low-energy LED lighting powered by biofuel generators. This unique configuration promises to deliver an unparalleled electric vehicle racing experience, offering fans an exciting contrast to traditional daytime races.

The Jeddah Corniche Circuit, the venue for the competition, spans 3.001 kilometers and features a challenging layout with high-speed straights and 19 sharp corners. The circuit's narrow and elongated layout presents unique challenges, emphasizing the need for exceptional tire performance in terms of grip, handling, cornering, braking, and durability, which are expected to play a decisive role in the race's outcome.

Hankook’s GEN3 Evo iON Race, the official racing tire of Formula E, continues to attract significant attention from drivers and race officials for its performance in this Middle Eastern event. Specially designed for the GEN3 Evo race car, capable of reaching speeds of up to 322 km/h and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 1.86 seconds — 30% faster than current F1 cars — the tire has already demonstrated its exceptional performance in previous races in Brazil and Mexico. It is widely anticipated to deliver unparalleled performance once again, supporting peak racing conditions throughout the event.

The GEN3 Evo iON Race is a next-generation electric racing tire that seamlessly combines environmental sustainability with high performance. Constructed using advanced engineered fibers and natural rubber, it offers excellent heat resistance and stability. The tire’s innovative compound also incorporates sustainable materials and energy-saving technologies, highlighting Hankook’s commitment to sustainable motorsport.

Through its support for the Jeddah E-Prix, Hankook aims to solidify its position as a global leader in electric vehicle tire while strengthening its premium reputation and showcasing its Evolution technology among motorsport fans in Saudi Arabia.

To further expand its footprint, Hankook has been strengthening its presence in the Saudi Arabian market since August 2023 through a strategic collaboration with Bin-Shihon Group, its official distributor in the region. They launched the world’s first full-lineup EV-exclusive tire brand, iON, which includes the performance-oriented iON evo and iON evo SUV. The innovative technology behind these products has been well-received, helping Hankook establish a strong presence in the local EV tire market.

Meanwhile, Formula E Season 11 spans 16 rounds across 10 major cities worldwide and features fierce competition among six global electric vehicle manufacturers, including Porsche, Jaguar, Nissan, Stellantis, Mahindra, and Lola Cars.
